Sedation

While we at Guelph Line Dental work hard to make our patients as comfortable as possible during their visits, we understand that at times getting dental work done can cause extreme anxiety. In some cases, patients would rather deal with the pain of a dental emergency rather than face their fear of the dental procedure. This can cause severe long-term problems. To help, we enlist the world’s safest and most effective sedation techniques to help you stay relaxed and calm so our dental professionals can give you the best care possible. These include:

Oral Sedation: Simply put, this is a sedative taken by mouth that will reduce the patient’s anxiety and allow them to relax. This best for patients who will have multiple procedures in a single sitting.

Deep Sedation: This is otherwise known as “Sleep Dentistry”, and is best for patients whos procedure will take a long time. Deep Sedation will put the patient in a sleep-like state and allow them to wake up once the procedure is complete.

Nitrous Oxide: This is otherwise known as “Laughing Gas”, and is best for patients that will undergo a shorter procedure. It will keep them awake during the procedure, but simply reduce their anxiety and help their jaw relax to allow our dental professionals to do their work unimpeded.
