Older Adults With Tooth Loss at Risk for Malnutrition

We often think about dental health in cosmetic terms, particularly the benefits. But the benefits of taking care of your teeth stretch far beyond what the eye can see, and so do the risks of not.

Recently a study by Rutgers University published by the Journal of Aging Research and Clinical Practice found a trend of malnutrition among older adults who experienced significant tooth loss. Nutrition becomes that much more important as we age, so it’s not hard to see the danger of reduced nutrition among our elderly.
