These are unprecedented and challenging times for all of us. Unfortunately, because of obvious reasons your team at Guelph Line Dental cannot support your oral health and overall wellness in-person, but we’re still here for you! Here are some tips to help you stay safe and keep your oral health as tip-top as possible during these unique times where you cannot visit the clinic.
Change Toothbrushes Regularly
Your toothbrush. Always there for you. Always ready for the job. But, has it passed its prime? You should change out your toothbrush (or electric toothbrush head if your routine is powered up!) every 3 months at a minimum.
Keep in mind, it’s not just about the age of the toothbrush. For many reasons your toothbrush may need to be replaced before the 3 month mark. You can judge for yourself if your toothbrush needs to be replaced earlier by checking out the bristles. Once they become frayed and show some age, it’s a good time to swap it out regardless of how long it’s been.
Having a regularly updated toothbrush will limit the bacteria you take in and help ensure that you’re brushing uniformly. It’ll ensure that your morning and nighttime routine is as effective as possible.
Of course, not all of us have a bullpen of backup toothbrushes, and shopping is a challenge for many of us. So, the next time you do a shopping run or put in an online order, grab yourself a few extra toothbrushes so you can easily swap out when the time is right.
